Trailer mounted attenuators

There are several companies that offer trailer mounted attenuators that are used when highway and road safety vehicles are deployed.  There needs to be some discussion over their possible use by safety vehicles on hot tracks both for the protection of marshals and for drivers that may crash into the heavy machinery.

Although I agree, these systems would beneficial, would local/smaller facilities be able to afford the costs.
Proper Race Control protocol, pace car placement, and "all call" radio communications as to the location of these vehicles on track, should be the norm from amateur to professional ranks.
