Low Nose Design Questioned in F1

After this year’s inaugural race, many questioned the design of the new low nose in Formula 1. The main idea was to prevent the cars from launching in the air during a crash. The low nose would plow into the car in front instead of jump over it. However, Kobayashi’s crash at the start of the Australia GP showed how his car plowed under the car in front, scooping the entire car over his and towards his head.
