With the recent loss in Indy Car everyone is taking a look at the safety of the drivers with emphasis on the driver compartment of race cars. There currently is focus on debris or projectiles coming into contact with the driver on track. Midgets have not changed that much in design since the down tube chassis made a huge improvement. As we move forward thru the winter it is a great time to begin a conversation about how to improve Midget safety. How do we make it much safer for the drivers. I hope many race safety experts, owners and drivers chime in and become part of the conversation. I look forward to working with the Midget groups proactively.
