Sources that saw the 2,000-horsepower Nissan GT-R roll multiple times have blamed poor track conditions. The driver of a Nissan GT-R lost his life Saturday morning in a racing accident at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana. Sprint car driver Greg Hodnett died Thursday night in a crash at the BAPS Motor Speedway, the former Susquehanna Speedway, in Newberry Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office. Hodnett, 49, of Jackson Township, reportedly lost control of his car in Turn One during the race and hit a wall at a high speed. He died on impact, the coroner said. The Stadium Super Trucks series has been dropped from the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 support bill after CAMS suspended the category from racing on safety grounds. Next month’s Gold Coast 600 was set to host the penultimate round of the series as a support class to Supercars, featuring on the bill alongside Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, SuperUtes and Aussie Racing Cars. Rally Turkey organizers have listened to the complaints of the World Rally Championship manufacturers and agreed to run four-minute gaps between the lead drivers on Friday afternoon's stages. The leading drivers all complained bitterly about the dust problem on the Cetibeli stage on Friday morning, with many of them labelling it dangerous to drive in such conditions.
