Audi Club's Northwest Chapter Becomes CERTIFIED By The Motorsport Safety Foundation

March 12, 2019

Motorsport Safety Foundation Grants Level II Certification to Audi Club North America – Northwest Chapter’s HPDE Instructor Training Program

The Northwest Chapter of Audi Club North America (ACNW) has achieved Level II certification in the Motorsport Safety Foundation’s High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) instructor training initiative, CERTIFIED. Audi Club North America is the world’s largest Audi car club, and its Northwest Chapter is one of the organization’s oldest and largest, serving members in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. ACNW hosts ten named events per year on local tracks, incorporating high-speed (Driver Education), car control (Driver Skills) and Teen Clinics. The club welcomes participants from all of the surrounding states and Canadian provinces to partake in these events.

“Audi Club Northwest is happy to be a part of the Motorsport Safety Foundation's future,” said Patrick Martin, Audi Club Northwest President and Chief Driving Instructor. “Our club strives to set a high standard for our instructor core, and we appreciate the recognition of those efforts by MSF. We look forward to a bright future for our partnership with MSF and appreciate its work on high standards for the HPDE community.”

The CERTIFIED program was established to improve the standards and operations of HPDE schools, instructor training programs and instructors in order to provide a safer and better quality experience for all involved. The nonprofit believes in the importance of all instructors working from the same baseline and continuing their training at an Instructor Training School that offers a curriculum that covers, at a minimum, the standards outlined by the Motorsport Safety Foundation.

Audi Club’s Northwest Chapter joins Audi Club Golden Gate and Audi Club Southern California as the third Audi Club North America group to be CERTIFIED by the Motorsport Safety Foundation. ACNW will host an Instructor Clinic on March 23, 2019 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA. It will be one day of concentrated learning and practice for both instructor candidates and seasoned instructors, aiming to further develop their skills as part of their ongoing experiences and development work with each club event.
